Breaking your wrist can be one of the most painful experiences as a human.
There’s loads of little bitty bones in your hand and arm that mesh together at the one point, and smashing the piece of your body that connects both can take quite a long time to heal.
Most people break their wrist in a fall but it’s doubtful any of them would have been travelling at the pace that poor Sally Pearson was tonight when she appeared to badly hurt her wrist in a Diamond League meeting in Rome.
The 2012 Olympic champion screamed in agony as she clutched her stricken limb while the other competitors were oblivious to her plight.
