We have stopped work for the day in support of this unfortunate young lad.
A ball-boy at the Australian Open has our eternal empathy after being hit with a 121mph serve in the last place you want to be hit with a 121mph serve.
During the match between Spain’s Feliciano Lopez and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, an unknowing young man had his hands behind his back (as is the norm for ball-boys) when a Lopez serve rocketed at his privates.
All men will understand that this was clearly one of the ones that wind you but, in fairness to the kid, he soldiers on to the best of his ability.
After receiving attention (we have no idea what kind of medical treatment could possibly aid that pain) the ball-boy managed to return to his post after a few minutes to see out the match.
We salute you young man!
