The cricketing world was rocked this morning with the tragic news that Australia’s Phil Hughes has died after being hit by a ball on Tuesday.
Hughes was knocked unconscious when he was hit in the head by a short pitch, and after being placed in an induced coma, he was pronounced dead today.
The Irish cricketing fraternity are only waking up to the dreadful news of Hughes’ passing and have been very vocal in expressing their grief and posting glowing tributes about the 25-year-old batsman.
