Perfect for the bumper lineup of sport this festive season.
Amazon’s Black Friday sale is live and it is good news for sports fans because the best Fire Stick on the market is now at its cheapest price ever, meaning fans can watch their favourite sport completely legally using the device.
The Amazon Fire Stick comes in three variations; the standard Fire Stick, the Lite version and the 4K Fire Stick.
For those who want to watch sports streams, the best option is the Fire Stick 4K to get the best picture quality and to prevent stream buffering.
The Fire Stick 4K is the most expensive in the range but the Black Friday sale has dropped the price to a record low of £34.99 (€42.98), down from £65 (€73.67). You can get the deal here.
The Fire Stick comes with enhanced WiFi capability to allow you to stream even when other devices are using the router and you should be able to watch your team in 4K Ultra HD with support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
Fire Sticks have hit the headlines for allowing for illegal streaming of sports, with authorities suggesting people could face hefty fines and prison sentences for watching illegal streams.
The device can also be used for legal streaming though. Popular streaming services including Sky Sports, TNT Sports, DAZN, Apple TV and Netflix can all be installed on the Fire Stick and viewers can watch them without a full contract.
The trick is to do something called ‘leapfrogging’, which is a way to skip between shorter, cheaper subscriptions to watch the sport you want to watch without signing up for expensive year-long contracts.
A Sky Sports longer contract is actually at its cheapest price ever at just £20 for Sky Sports on top of the standard Sky for £19.
It also comes with free Netflix, which has a host of sport documentaries and recently broadcast its first boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
However, Fire Stick users can also opt for a NowTV pass, which can give access to the channel for a single day, a week or a month for a one-off payment.
On TNT, which has the rights to England’s cricket tour of New Zealand and the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League fixtures, as well as Premier League games once a week at 12.30 pm on Saturdays, fans can buy a monthly pass instead of a contract and watch via a Fire Stick.
Amazon Prime Video is also available on the Fire Stick and fans can watch the channel’s Champions League games and a full set of Premier League fixtures in December by setting up a free trial here.
That will give access to Amazon Prime, which in turn will allow you to stream all Amazon football games on a Fire Stick for a month.
