Nobody likes a gloater
Our old football coach used to get very angry if we didn't win with dignity and lose with humility. We may not have understood as 12-year-olds who just loved to rub our opponents faces in it, but when you're on a 18 match losing streak, were we that wrong to gloat over a last gasp 1-1 draw? Hell,it felt like a win to us.
Anyway it taught all the valuable lesson that you only only celebrate when you actually win-and not when you think you have.
A lesson this runner in Oregon could do with having imparted to him after this epic fail.
