‘Skins’ star Jack O’Connell could be in line to play Ronnie O’Sullivan in a film about the snooker player’s life and career.
O’Sullivan is thought to be keen on the proposed biopic, which he expects to be similar to Oscar nominees Whiplash and Black Swan.
The five-time world champion told the Sunday Mirror that his agent had been in contact with Lionsgate, the production company behind the Hunger Games and Twilight franchises.
“I’ve reached perfection in something that I do, I’ve had a wand in my hand. To get that across into a film is great,” O’Sullivan said.
“Lionsgate in America got in contact with my agent. I thought ‘they’re not serious’.
“But as it’s gone on they’ve said they were going to buy the rights to my film and a couple of big LA actors who are snooker fans said they want the part. I said, ‘As long as the film does justice to my life I’ve got no problems with it.’”
The 40-year-old, whose last world title came in 2013, won his 28th career title at the Welsh Open this year.
His 13 maximum breaks is a record in the sport, though it could very easily be one higher.
SportsJOE has reached out to Lionsgate for comment.
