Mo Farah and Andy Vernon show their true feelings for each other with spiteful Twitter row

That escalated quickly

What are team mates for, eh?

Andy Vernon has obviously been biting his lip for too long.

The British runner must be sick of the sight of the back of Mo Farah’s head, even if they are team mates. Athletes are competitive and, finally this evening, an innocuous event tipped Vernon over the edge.

The 5,000 and 10,000 metre GB team mates got into a very public war of words after Vernon expressed his anger at the lack of competition facing Farah at the Indoor Grand Prix on Saturday (even though he isn’t bothering himself) and Mo wasn’t long in reminding his team mate who’s number one.

Vernon then tweeted later accusing Farah of having weak fields made up for home races. The next British team outing should be good craic.

We’re just happy someone called Farah on his questionable use of quotes.
