Just three weeks ago, Cricket Ireland named a 15-man squad for a tour of the UAE for a World Cup warm-up event in Dubai. Today, unsurprisingly, that exact same squad was confirmed as the panel that will go to Australia and New Zealand to take part in the 2015 World Cup.

Once again, William Porterfield will captain the side, and with the likes of Ed Joyce, Kevin and Niall O’Brien and Paul Stirling, there is no shortage of experience in the side.

Ireland’s campaign will begin on February 16 against the West Indies and they will also face South Africa, India, Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe and the UAE over the course of of a month’s worth of action.

The 2011 tournament saw Ireland famously beat England in a thrilling group game in Bangalore so here’s hoping for more than a few moments of magic like that this time around.
