Clear eyes, full pints, can’t lose
For those of you who aren’t aware, there is a competition running in the during the ICC Cricket World Cup called Tui Catch A Million.
Any fan that wears an orange shirt bearing the name of New Zealand beer Tui on it and takes a clean, one-handed catch during any of the New Zealand matches wins a share of the prize pool.
The jackpot currently stands at $250,000, but will increase every time New Zealand progresses. If the Kiwis make the quarter-finals, it goes up to 375k, semis 500k, the losers final 750k and if they managed to win the tournament outright it will be a cool million.
It might sound like a tough task, but remarkably two people have made the catch so far in the first two games, with 21 left to go.
One of these catches were made earlier today and it was pretty damn miraculous. Note the degree of difficulty involved in making the catch and that, despite making a flying leap through the air and landing on his back, he barely spills a drop of his pint.
What an inspiration to us all.
