Eoin Morgan is a very lucky man after a frightening incident today in the one-day game with Australia.
The Irishman, who is the English captain, was in action today for his adopted country but the Dubliner had barely arrived at the crease when Mitchell Starc’s bouncer made a sickening clash with the side of his helmet.
Starc is one of the faster bowlers around and reports suggested the ball was travelling at around 90mph when it hit the 29-year-old’s helmet.

Morgan appeared stunned by the blow, as naturally anyone would, and after some medical attention he walked from the field and did nor resume in the action.
In a strange twist of fate Starc was also on the field of play when Australian batsman Phil Hughes was killed by a bouncer in November of last year.
From the ECB – @Eoin16 is being treated for concussion and will take no further part in the match. James Taylor will deputise as captain.

Golly, the cricket. If Eoin Morgan doesn't come back out to bat it would be classy if Smith chose not to bat for Australia's reply, no?
