So, so much cod.
Dwayne Johnson’s wonderful interview with Muscle and Fitness magazine has offered up a fascinating insight to the life of the 42-year-old professional wrestler and actor.
Johnson, who WWE fans may know as The Rock, gets up for some cardio work between 4 and 5am each morning before he has a spot of breakfast. Not your wholegrain toast, grapefruit and coffee job either.
Johnson kicks off his day with a slab of cod, two eggs and two cups of oatmeal [we presume he dabs a bit of water on this]. He follows that up by ‘hitting the iron for 90 minutes’. This must mean pumping weights of various shapes and sizes rather than pressing out the creases in his designer shirts.
All in all, Johnson sits down for seven meals, consumes almost three pounds of cod and tots up over 5,000 calories – almost two times the amount a regular SportsJOE reader would take on board.
FiveThirtyEight has worked out that Johnson eats 821 pounds of cod a year, which would set him back in the region of $1,400. That’s a lot of Rock Bottoms.

Unless the Fast & Furious star is fibbing, it would appear that Crunchie bars, chicken fillet rolls and the odd pint of Smithwicks are not part of his regular diet plan.
