A new documentary on the fastest man over 100m and 200m will be hitting the cinemas after the 2016 games.
Film production company Fulwell 73 will produce the new documentary on Usain Bolt. The film will follow the Jamaican sprinter’s preparations for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio up until his retirement in 2017.
The film, which is set for theatrical release, will also look back over his storied career in athletics and his rise to the zenith of the sport.
Brothers Ben and Gabe Turner have been signed to do the project. You might remember them as the directing duo behind ‘The Class of ’92′ which followed David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Phil Neville and Gary Neville on their paths to becoming Manchester United legends.
The pair also received producing credits on ‘One Direction: A Year in the Making’, but the less said about that the better.
Gabe has high hopes for the documentary, and admitted that accepting the offer to direct the project was an extremely easy decision to make.
“Ben and I had a real interest in looking at the life of an athlete competing in an individual sport. When the opportunity arose to do so with the greatest athlete of all time, we leapt at the chance.”
“Usain’s journey over this next year and what he achieves in Rio, will define his legacy and redefine what is possible in his sport. We cannot wait to be with him every step of the way.”
The untitled project will be the follow up to the 2012 documentary ‘Usain Bolt: The Fastest Man Alive’.
