Security was forced to intervene after Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price played out a draw on night 15 of the Premier League of Darts in Sheffield.
With neither man a stranger to boos from the crowd, Gurney’s match against the divisive Price played out with little hostility before the end, when tempers boiled over.
Derry’s Gurney secured a draw against the throw and kept himself in the running for a play-off place with his 64 finish following 14 legs of well-contested action.
Price was on his best behaviour for the match, which has not been the case on several occasions over the past 12 months, but Gurney clearly took umbrage with something that the Welshman had been doing as his celebrations caused a scuffle on the stage which forced security to separate the players.

After firing home a double 16, Gurney motioned as if to punch Price from behind and as the pair aggressively shook hands, angry words and angrier shoves were exchanged.
The referee got between Gurney and Price before the cavalry arrived in the form of a pair of security guards, who managed to restore order.
The result leaves Gurney on level points with the fourth-placed Mensur Suljovic while the draw was much less helpful for Price, who is now much more reliant on the outcome of other matches as he sits in sixth place of the table.
