This sounds ridiculous.
Michael Smith reached the darts world championship finals after beating Nathan Aspinall 6-3 tonight, and he is already thinking about how he would celebrate winning the competition – more specifically how he plans to continue the celebrations into his own wedding.
Smith has revealed that instead of waiting for his wife-to-be Dagmara at the altar, he would insist on walking down the aisle himself.
He said: “My dream is that she will wait for me down the aisle so I can walk down with the trophy.
“And if so, I want my walk-on song coming on.
“The person marrying us will then say to her, ‘Do you take the reigning world champion Michael Smith as your husband?’
What an amazing game of darts 🎯

“That’s what I want. And, trust me, I’ll do it. She will be the first woman to wait for the man. It’s not long now. I’ve had no input whatsoever to the wedding. I didn’t even have to pick my own suit. She did.
“The only input I’ve had is I keep getting my wallet out — and she uses the bank cards to pay for it.
“I think it’s a 1pm start. It should have been 2pm but she has moved it back. Don’t worry, I will be in Wetherspoons before it all starts.”
Smith will play the winner of Gary Anderson vs Michael van Gerwen in the world championship final on Tuesday, and should he win, he could miss the PDC Awards Dinner at The Dorchester Hotel on January 21st as he is scheduled to be in the Dominican Republic on his honeymoon from January 10th.
