Another fine day for the Irishman as he finishes strongly to climb the General Classification.
Dan Martin is doing nicely, thank you, at this year’s Tour de France.
The Etixx Quick-Step rider is just 19 seconds off Yellow Jersey holder Chris Froome and third overall in the GC.
He finished with Froome and a bunch of leading riders in a Stage 9 won by Dutchman Tom Dumoulin. The finish saw him overtake Naro Quintana and moved up to third overall.
There was plenty of praise for Martin’s efforts after the stage.
