Kristaps Porzingis is one of the biggest stars in the NBA.
After turning 22 on Wednesday he has already made quite a splash stateside despite only being in the NBA for two years the Latvian is one of the biggest names in the sport.
Despite his franchise, the New York Knicks, being nothing short of terrible the past few years they are still very popular.
And with Porzingis their golden boy he has shipped a lot of jerseys, the seventh most of anyone in the entire league. Not bad.
Well, like any elite athlete, Porzingis is constantly looking to improve his game.
Speaking to NBA.com the player discussed what he had been working on in the off season.
“My game is inside and out. I want to keep it that way so I worked a lot on my shooting, and my post game, which I know I can get better at. A lot of time was spent and will be spent in the weight room. I want to be able to take contact and be ready for all kinds of situations. All that coming together will help me come together as a player.”
But the 22-year-old wants to take inspiration from Conor McGregor to bring him to the next level.
“I’m still 22 and still really young but I’m trying to learn as much as I can on the court, and trying to learn as much as I can off the court as well. I want to improve the mental side. I’m actually amazed by Conor McGregor. I’ve been watching so many of his videos, trash talking, how mentally strong he is. I’ve been really interested in that kind of stuff.”
Well there you have it, all the pantomime stuff that comes from McGregor does actually come into good use after all.
