Warms the cockles. Does wonders for the heart too.
Ireland was given a collective shot in the arm, last week, when we watched as 15-year-old Special Olympian Déarbháil Savage discovered she had won a gold medal.
Savage, from the small town of Mowhan, County Armagh, was beside herself with joy when she discovered she had won the top prize for her equestrian event.
The video, shared by Today FM on Facebook, of her reaction has over 80,000 views.
Last night, in her hometown, it must have felt as though there were 80,000 people at her homecoming.
Déarbháil with some Aer Lingus cabin crew before she flew out for the games. To add to her gold, Déarbháil also took home two silver medals.
The streets were back as Savage waved to crowds on the back of a tricolour bedecked trailer.
Clady Gaelic Football Club very kindly sent us on photos of the celebrations and it certainly looks like they had a night of it.
Well deserved too.
