Well done, Sam.
Mark Cavendish was the star of stage seven of the Tour de France in Fougerers this afternoon as he won for the first time in two years, but Irishman Sam Bennett also performed well, finishing in tenth place.
There was a bunch of riders jostling for position as the peloton approached the finish line, but Bennett burst clear to claim tenth, which leaves him in 175th overall.
The two other Irish riders in the Tour, Dan Martin and Nicholas Roche, are in 34th and 73rd respectively.
Yesterday, leader Tony Martin had to withdraw after breaking his collarbone in a crash, which leaves Chris Froome in charge of the Yellow Jersey.
