Ronnie O’Sullivan has heaped praise on Irish snooker player Aaron Hill after his shock win over Mark Selby at the Welsh Open on Wednesday.
Hill, 21, came from a frame behind to beat four-time world champion Selby 4-2 at the ranking tournament.
The Cork native, who will take on Zhengyi Fan on Thursday for a place in the last-16 of the competition, earned the praise of O’Sullivan, who was on punditry duty for the game.

“He played really well,” O’Sullivan said on Eurosport.
“He’s a strong player. I’ve played him before, hits the ball really well.
“He fancies the job. He walks around the table like, ‘I’m here to win’.
“Mark wasn’t great today, he was a bit off-form. But you’ve still got to pot the balls and do the business.”

Hill is currently ranked 66th in the world. The 21-year-old has been a professional snooker player for four years.
His most famous victory to date was a 5-4 win over O’Sullivan at the European Masters in 2020.
