Jacob Kurtz was merely goal-tending by Florida’s basket as their encounter with State rivals wound down. The scores were tied at 63 and Florida State’s Devon Bookert looked to have thrown up a three-point brick.

Kurtz timed his jump wrong, however, and managed to somehow flick the ball into his own basket just as the clock hit 0.4 and the match finished up.

Kurtz’ team-mate, Kasey Hill told ESPN post-match, ‘That was not Jacob’s fault at all. That was everybody’s fault. We made some mental rrors and that’s what killed us.’
