If you feel anyway sorry for Oklahoma City Thunder, you must be gutted for Kevin Durant.
One of the NBA’s greatest players was a game, and a day, away from the final and a meeting with Cleveland Cavaliers. That was six days ago.
Now, after Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors rallied, rallied and rallied again, Durant is on his summer holidays.
Curry and the Warriors are Western Conference champions and four games away from winning back-to-back NBA titles.
The NBA’s unanimous 2016 MVP scored 36 points in his side’s 96-88 over ‘OKC’. Once again, Curry’s three-point shooting was to the fore and shone in the final quarter. The Warriors had gone from 3-1 down to Curry declaring ‘We’re not going home’ after Game 5 and holding up seven fingers after winning the decider.

Post-match, he told ESPN, “We fought. Man, we’ve got to enjoy this because six days ago we were down and out and had a long way to go.
“We took it one game at a time and every single person back there in a white jersey contributed. This is what it’s all about.
“We got four more wins to get.”
Up next, the Cavs and LeBron James.
