It had to end eventually.
The Golden State Warriors finally saw their record-breaking start to the season come to an end last night as Stephen Curry’s 28 points were not enough to prevent the Milwaukee Bucks defeating the reigning champs, 108-95.
A combination of fatigue and the law of averages finally caught up to the Dubs, who ran out of gas on the final night of a seven-game road trip, just 24 hours after a marathon double overtime victory in Boston extended their record to 24-0.
Adding in the four-game win streak at the end of last season and Golden State’s 28-game run becomes the second-longest in NBA history, following the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers.
The result was made even sweeter for the section of fans, including owner Marc Lasry, who all wore 24-1 T-shirts to the game.
