Idina Menzel has been announced as the national anthem singer at Super Bowl XLIX in University of Phoenix Stadium, Arizona.
The Broadway star whooshed into the globe’s consciousness with her lung-busting rendition of Let It Go in the hit Disney animation, Frozen. Previous musical stars selected to sing the anthem include Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, The Dixie Chicks and, your friends and mine, the Backstreet Boys.
Menzel and R&B crooner John Legend, who will perform America the Beautiful, were confirmed today as pre-game entertainment by the NFL ahead of the Super Bowl, on February 1.
