David Justice and actress Halle Berry separated in 1996. However, 19 years on, the former baseball star felt the need to set the record straight.
It is perhaps a touch harsh to describe David Justice as ‘the guy from Moneyball’ but that is how the most casual of sports fans now know him.
In the 1990s and turn of the century, though, Justice was hot baseball property. He won World Series penants in 1995 and 2000 and was a three-time All Star.
By the time he signed for Oakland A’s, Justice was 36 and winding down his designated hitter career. A’s general manager Billy Beane spotted something he liked in Justice – hence Moneyball [when he was played by actor Steven Bishop].
It was not Justice’s first brush with Hollywood.
In 1992, he married Halle Berry, who had starred in Jungle Fever and Boomerang. Their marriage ended four years later.
Justice feels he has been dogged by a rumour for the past two decades and, on Tuesday, he felt it was time to set the record straight… on Twitter.
Reading the latest Halle Berry Reports,it wasn't me who hit Halle causing the ear damage.Halle has never said that I hit her.

Justice then spewed out another series of tweets [since deleted] in which he blamed Berry’s ‘Hollywood Team’ for blackening his name after their separation, then divorce.
He also claimed that all of his ex-wives partners are celebrated until they broke up, then they are ‘the worst guys in history’. It prompted this tweet from Berry’s second husband, Eric Benet:
My man at @23davidjustice is tweeting some truth dis' mornin'!

Berry was then interviewed by TMZ about the ancient rumours and she took the moment to categorically deny them.
Justice was a happy man.
I just want to thank Halle for finally squashing all of the rumors in the past, that I had physically abused her, causing the hearing loss.

All’s well that starts with a rant.
