Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ are fighting for the rights – who can blame them…
Manchester United have been swarmed with offers to make a behind-the-scenes documentary showing the club’s planned revival.
As reported by The Sun, the club have been subject to a multitude of offers all wanting to document The Red Devils’ attempt to climb back up to the top of the pile in world football since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival.
The English billionaire bought a minority 27.7% share in United in February this year for £1.3billion, gaining sporting control of the club.
A film would potentially focus on some key matters at the club, such as the team’s search for their first league title in over a decade as well as the renovation of Old Trafford.
However, due to the current lack of positive results on the pitch, the club are reported to be more focused on getting back on track performance wise before entering serious negotiations with any on demand services to make a documentary.
A United documentary would be just the latest in a series of clubs to sell the rights to the insides of their dressing rooms and behind the scenes of the club.
Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle have all made documentaries with Amazon in recent years, with Liverpool looking to sell a documentary on Jurgen Klopp’s final six months at the club.
Fly on the wall documentaries are no new phenomenon, however, with a documentary being made about Neil Warnock’s Sheffield United side in the 1990s, giving rise to some infamous sayings still used today.

Documentaries connected to Man United have been made in the past, with Prime making series about Wayne Rooney, Sir Alex ferguson and United’s treble winning season, while Netflix has made a four-part film on David Beckham.
However, as of yet, nothing has ever been made solely following the club through a Premier League season.
Many United fans will surely be excited by the prospect of seeing the underbelly of their club exposed, however, not everyone may enjoy what they see with the current state the club is in.
Only time will tell when a series could come to fruition, until then United have bigger issues at hand.
