As dramatic finishes go, all other contenders can kindly step aside.
TG4 were getting some flak, today, for going with GAA coverage instead of the Tour de France finalé. There may be no arguments, now, after Kiladangan and Loughmore-Castleiney served up an all-time classic.
Both sides went toe-to-toe and score-for-score at Semple Stadium, with a Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship title up for grabs. Loughmore-Castleiney last won in 2013 but Kiladangan had never won a senior crown.
As the game progressed, Kiladangan nipped ahead and their three goals had stung their opponents. Just as it looked as though the county title would be going to Kiladangan, Noel McGrath stepped up in the dying embers of the game to bring it to extra time:

That was only a taste of the drama that was to come, however.
In two halves of 10 minutes, players from both sides reached within themselves to pull out some top-drawer hurling and scores. It was edge of the seat stuff.
With time winding down, Loughmore-Castleiney edged a point ahead with a long-range free but there was to be a final fling of the dice. After a thumping puck-out, the ball was won amid a mass of bodies and hurls and was fed to Bryan McLoughney.
He still had work to do but he steeled himself and plundered home the winner in stunning style.

And that was all she wrote. A 1-28 to 3-20 win for Kiladangan, their first county title at senior level and a day they will never forget.
