“I’m a footballer and the whole point of being here was to play football," Grigg said in quotes appearing in the Daily Record. "To not get on the pitch has been a disappointment but to hear the support I’ve been getting from the fans has been fantastic.”
Grigg's song has been embraced by supporters of all countries at the European Championships but the Wigan striker has admitted that he's "getting a bit tired of it now."
The chant, sung to the tune of Gala's Freed from Desire, has stretched far and wide to the point that Eric Cantona even gave a rousing rendition of it at the weekend.

“I saw the video that Cantona posted on line because I was being bombarded by tweets and messages from friends about it," Grigg continued. "Yes, everyone found it very funny.
“It’s incredible how the song has caught on and how many people know my name because of it but I try to stay away from it. I certainly haven’t been singing it myself because I find it all a bit awkward."
