Both van Gaal and Giggs were engaged in a bidding war for the wondrous opportunity of playing with Dwight Yorke at a charity golf event.
Van Gaal looked to have sealed it with his bid, but then Giggs had to come in with an even bigger bid. LVG fired back by cracking him with a forceful slap to the back of the Welshman's dome.
