Mesut Ozil released a video on his social media platform yesterday, paying tribute to his loyal supporters. However, the German displays the emotional range of a granite wall in what may very well be the most cringe-worthy thank you video ever made.
Everything from the awkward, crouched pose to the monotonous, banal tone of the message makes for one hell of an excruciating watch. Although, the clip lasts a mere nine-seconds, the overall experience feels as dull as watching the director's cut version of every Lord of the Rings film, back-to-back, overdubbed in Suomi.
We can only assume that the ringing in the background is the death knell tolling for what remained of Ozil's personality before he landed the coup de grace by recording this video.
