Sligo Rovers let a late lead slip to drop points against Cork City last night, but it's not the result that Gavin Peers is bitter about.
Former Rovers player Ross Gaynor came back to haunt Sligo as his 11th hour equaliser saw both sides take a point from the dramatic Airtrcity league opener.
Steven Beattie opened his account for the Connacht outfit on his debut by bundling the ball into the net just five minutes from the death. He tweeted after the match expressing his disappointment at his side throwing away the lead but admitted he was delighted to get a goal in his first game for the club.

However, Gavin Peers just couldn't let his team-mate get away with that tweet. Peers reckons that it was him who stuck the ball into the net, not Johnny-come-lately Beattie. So much so, that he felt the need to point it out to his club-mate on Twitter.

I know what you're thinking. He could just be having a laugh with his team-mate. A bit of Richard Keys style b**ter, if you will. However, it seems that Peers is genuinely aggrieved at the fact that he wasn't attributed with the goal.
