PICS: Sao Paulo players took to the pitch with dogs at the weekend to promote a great cause

We don't often get to write "adorable" in our stories but there's only one word to describe the mascots at Estadio do Morumbi on Sunday night.

Sao Paulo's players walked onto the field with dogs ahead of their 1-1 draw with Palmeiras to raise awareness for an initiative in the city whereby people are encouraged to take in stray dogs. The cute canines jogged happily alongside the home players as they emerged from the tunnel as the stadium erupted in a chorus of applause and "awhs."
