The Irish squad were hit with a double-whammy of bad news today.

Things went from bad to worse for the Irish squad today. Two key midfielders have been ruled out of the crucial Euro 16 qualifying match against Scotland on Friday. The FAI confirmed on Twitter that neither James McCarthy nor Glenn Whelan will travel to Glasgow for the qualifying match against the Scots. https://twitter.com/FAIreland/status/532837618690822144 https://twitter.com/FAIreland/status/532837939097923584 Losing two midfielders coupled with having to deal with the shitstorm emerging from THAT incident at the team's hotel in Portmarnock last night is hardly ideal preparation for one of the biggest games of the Irish team's year. The duo join players such as Kevin Doyle, Marc Wilson and Darron Gibson to the side's mounting injury list.
