Poor old Michael Owen takes an awful battering at times.
Last night, the former Liverpool striker took to social media to congratulate 17-year-old Ben Woodburn
for becoming the club's youngest ever goalscorer.
Woodburn scored the Reds' second in a 2-0 EFL Cup win over Leeds United at Anfield. at 17 years and 45 days, he surpassed the goalscoring record that was previously held by Owen [17 years, 145 days].
Owen was quick to give the teenager credit for the feat:

Unfortunately though, given Owen's time spent with Manchester United and Newcastle United, the response was less than favourable.
In fact, it was downright nasty.
