While 19-year-old Anthony Martial is settling in nicely to Premier League life, 17-year-old Regan Poole must settle for friendlies and training with the United academy.
On the same day that United completed the £36m transfer of Martial, from Monaco, they signed up a defensive prospect from Newport County for a fee that, should he make a senior appearance, rise to £400,000.
United signed Poole - a centre back who played 15 times for Newport last season - as one for the future, following glowing reports from their scouts.
However, the Wales U19 international has yet to be given international clearance from Fifa.
That's right, in the six weeks since his transfer, Fifa have not cleared Poole's International Transfer Certificate - from Wales to England.
They must have something else occupying their thoughts...
