But Evans wants Byram to reject the Reds' approaches and sign a new contract at Elland Road.
"Well, he's a top player. It is why we hope he stays at the football club," Evans said after Sunday's draw.
"He pops into pockets when he plays further forward and he's very difficult to mark.
"The reason he's so good is because his feet are terrific.
"He's a gifted boy, a player we want to work with, but we want him to commit to our football club."
