It's fair to say that we won't be seeing Barton in a Shamrock Rovers jersey anytime soon.
Barton is currently a free agent after being released by Queens Park Rangers earlier this summer.
The controversial footballer held a Q&A session on Twitter on Wednesday and a lot of the questions centred around what Barton plans were for the immediate future, considering he was without a club.
When a League of Ireland account asked the controversial midfielder would he ever consider coming across the waters to play in the Irish top flight, he issued the following retort,
