"This year I spoke to Noel (King) at the start of everything and I said to Noel, 'this year I'm going to take a year out to concentrate on my club football'. You know, it helped, I signed a new five-year contract. I've had a good, successful year. So, like I said, hopefully next year I'll be back in the green jersey."Kevin Grealish, Jack's father, confirmed to the Irish Independent that the Villa midfielder will keep the promise he made at the FAI awards.
"Jack will ultimately make the decision on his international future but nothing has changed for him since he made that statement last month."However, Kevin added that although his son will play for the U21 team, it does not mean he has decided on his senior international future as of yet. He reiterated that Jack is still very much concentrating on his career with Aston Villa, who reached the FA Cup final after defeating Liverpool at the weekend.
"It must be remembered that Jack only recently broke into the Villa first-team, so his sole focus is on keeping his place, helping the club avoid relegation and hopefully playing in the FA Cup final on May 30."
