And Coleman has claimed that the official would likely have given the spot-kick if he had dramatically thrown himself to the turf and play-acted but that's just not in the DNA of the Donegal man.
"Some players have a better knack of naturally going down when they get a touch than others," Coleman told Sky Sports after the game.
"I felt he's touched me so I've went down and I've waited to see will the ref give anything and he didn't.
"Maybe other players would make more of a meal of it and, I say it all the time, I say I'm not going to dive.
"I got a touch and sometimes maybe you have to make a meal of it nowadays because that's the way it seems to be going.
"I felt a little touch, didn't get anything, got up and got on with it whereas some players might stay down and make more of a meal of it."
