It appears that David de Gea's long-discussed transfer to Real Madrid is an inevitability after the United stopper told friends that he would not be able to resist the move. The Daily Mail report that the former Atletico Madrid keeper has revealed that he is seriously considering a return to the Spanish capital. Signs were not good for the Red Devils after, just last week, current Real number 1 Iker Casillas claimed that he would not leave the club even if he was to lose his starting place. The loss of David de Gea would be a significant one for Louis van Gaal as there are not many in the United ranks who you could say had a better season than the Spaniard. De Gea's contract is up next summer but it looks increasingly likely that the 24-year-old could move on at the end of this season, with the friendship of the player's agent Jorge Mendes and Real president Florentino Perez not doing anything to ease the worries of United fans hopeful of seeing de Gea between the sticks next season.
