Conor Murray and Peter O’Mahony show Irish rugby fans what ‘warm weather prep’ is all about

Jack O'Toole

Some people love the beach. Some people don’t.

Munster captain Peter O’Mahony seems to belong to the latter rouping.

With the Irish rugby team in Spain preparing for the Six Nations, O’Mahony and his teammates headed off for a day at the beach. Josh van der Flier took in the views, Johnny Sexton figuring out the finer details of Instagram, and O’Mahony was booting the sand like it had no business belonging there.

The man is clearly itching to get back to Ireland and get down to some serious Six Nations prep…

The footage was provided by O’Mahony’s Ireland and Munster teammate Conor Murray, who is developing a steady reputation for catching his teammates with their guard down.

Last summer, the Ireland scrum-half caught Sexton trying on his first pair of skinny jeans on the Lions tour of New Zealand.

Murray appears to be apart of a group within the Irish camp known as ‘The Cartel’, which in an interview Sexton gave to Sky Sports last year, is led by Murray and former Ireland teammate Simon Zebo.

“It’s two absolute muppets – Murray and Zebo, they call themselves that,” said Sexton.

“They have a couple of cronies that hang with them. They just play pranks on lads in camp.

“They burnt all my laundry last year. That’s the type of thing they get up to. I come out, my car will be open, all my stuff will be missing.”

Sexton seems to be a serial victim of the Cartel’s antics but Peter O’Mahony has also been exposed for his mild hatred of sand.
