Well done to all involved.
It was announced last week that students from Limerick Institute of Technology were to hold an event this week whereby they would attempt to break the world-record for the largest scrum ever to take place.
The event was held today to pay tribute to the late, Anthony Foley and also to raise money for a charity of the Foley family’s choice.
There has been great support for the campaign ever since it was announced with a huge number of rugby clubs, community organisations and members of the public all looking to get involved.

The event was held today at LIT’s Moylish campus and we are delighted to announce that the world-record has indeed been broken.
It seems that up to 1700 people formed the scrum today which broke the previous record of 1565 which took place in Japan.

Some of the photos which were taken today show you the huge level of participation which took place.
