Stand up and fight.
A powerful performance, a powerful motive, powerful scenes.
Munster served the memory of Anthony Foley well at Thomond Park on Saturday. They ran over Glasgow for a bloody shortcut, 14 men or not, and they brought the entire country and rugby-loving world together to remember a legend.
It was a fitting sendoff for one of the greatest but, even after a team of 14 paid their tributes on the field better than anyone could’ve wished for, the whole squad gathered together after the match, shoulder to shoulder, and they bid farewell.
Joined by Anthony Foley’s two sons, Peter O’Mahony and the rest of the Munster contingent belted out Stand Up and Fight to a hushed Thomond Park who joined in to say goodbye to Axel one last time.
“Stand up and fight until you hear the bell,
Stand toe to toe, trade blow for blow,
Keep punchin’ till you make your punches tell,
Show that crowd what you know!
Until you hear that bell, that final bell,
Stand up and fight like hell!”

Rest in peace, Axel.
