VINE: Former Leinster coach sees two players cited for dangerous tip-tackle

Michael Cheika is not a happy man

Stupid.

Michael Cheika may have had a passing interest in the news that his old job is up for grabs again after Matt O’Connor vacated the role at Leinster this week.

But the Waratahs coach may have other things on his mind such as trying to find a hooker over the coming days after an incident in the match with Crusaders, on Saturday.

Tolu Latu and Will Skelton were both cited by Super Rugby governing body SANZAR after an incident with second rower Sam Whitelock.

They are in hot water after this clear lifting tackle that only warranted a yellow card at the time for Latu.

On Monday, SANZAR banned Latu for four weeks, as he had ‘the dominant role’ in the incident, and Skelton for two.

Waratahs have released a statement expressing their disappointment with the decision and their intentions to appeal both bans.
