Paul O’Connell is not a man who ever let any opponent see how much pain he may have been in after a hit on the field.
But unfortunately it looks as the hamstring injury that has ended the Limerick man’s Rugby World Cup has taken a major mental toil on the giant second row.
O’Connell naturally looks terribly sad as he was spotted leaving the Irish team hotel this afternoon on what must be extra strng crutches.
The Ireland captain struggles to get into a waiting car and the footage is a reminder of how heartbreaking his injury in the win over France really is.
