VIDEO: Jerry Collins’ final club delivers rousing tribute to legendary All Blacks flanker

A fitting tribute

Darragh Murphy

Racing Club de Narbonne have opened up their PRO D2 season in emotional style with a beautiful gesture to former player Jerry Collins.

Collins, and wife Alana Madill, passed away in a car accident earlier this summer and the club with which the former All Blacks captain saw out his career paid their respects today.

The Narbonne players took part in a fantastic haka ahead of their season opener against Aix en Provence before unfurling a giant banner with the message “Collins Forever” emblazoned across it.

Collins may have only spent four months with the club from the South of France but it’s clear to see that he had a big impact on the players.
