If an Irish province tried to pull this off, odds are they would get it wrong.
New Zealand’s Highlanders run a regular video series, sponsored by a famous, finger-lickin’ chicken franchise. The premise is an in-car camera following the boys as they head to training, have yarns and sing some tunes.
If that sounds a tad contrived, you’d be right. However, such is the laid-back nature of most Kiwis that it makes for a decent watch.
The latest episode includes All Blacks scrum-half Aaron Smith giving it absolute socks to Westlife’s ‘Flying Without Wings’.
Smith eases into the song but, once the chorus kicks it, he does not disappoint.
Fellow Highlander and New Zealand Ben Smith then showed up and, no surprises here, he was up for a croon.
