The Six Nations have revealed who has been the best player of the tournament so far

They don't explain why though...

Neil Treacy

We’re moving towards the business end of this year’s Six Nations, and the Player of the Tournament award is bound to be a hot topic after round four next weekend.

To help you make up your mind, the tournament organisers have put together this leaderboard, based on a very mysterious algorithm, which they don’t even bother explaining.

The award itself will be based on a public vote, but for now, we’ve been presented with “statistically” the 12 best performers so far.

potyEngland’s Billy Vunipola is the early pace-setter, and it’s the English who have the biggest representation on the leaderboard, with four players selected.

Robbie Henshaw has been Ireland’s best performer, while Johnny Sexton and Conor Murray also make the list.

Spare a thought for the poor French, though. Not a single representative.

Sacré bleu!
