The Ireland Sevens team moved a step closer to the Olympics with a massive win

Will Slattery

Poor Serbia.

They do the hard work to qualify for the Rugby Europe Division B final only to come up against Ireland, a team who is a cut above them. Anthony Eddy’s men routed Serbia 76-0 to go with their 74-0 win over Malta in the quarter-final and their 59-0 victory over Slovenia in the final four.

That win earns Ireland a spot in the Rugby Europe Olympic Repechage tournament in Lisbon next month. If they win that tournament, then they will advance to the World Olympic Repechage, which will decide who moves on to the Olympics in Rio de Janiero.
