We feel for Jonathan Evans.
We really do.
But we can’t shake the feeling that this whole horrible dilemma could have been avoided with some more meticulous planning.
Evans’ Scarlets side will take to the Aviva Stadium pitch on Saturday for the Guinness PRO12 final against Munster but he had to make an almighty sacrifice this morning.
Stupidly, whoever organised the scrum-half’s stag do booked it for the very same weekend of the final, clearly presuming that Scarlets wouldn’t go the distance.
But the distance they went and Evans knew what he had to do.

Here Evans is waving off his closest friends, who pulled away from the 24-year-old to make their way to the airport before boarding a flight to Budapest for the weekend.
While Evans will be planning for one of the biggest games of his young career, his buddies will *presumably* be necking pints in Hungary’s capital.
Still, if Scarlets come out on top of the Irish side in Dublin then it will all be worth it for Evans. Probably.
The sacrifice is real! Let's make history tomorrow! @scarlets_rugby pic.twitter.com/qcLLXHq7LM

And, just to throw an idea out there, the game will be over by 8pm on Saturday night and we’re sure he’d be able to find a late flight to Budapest and show up just after midnight to celebrate/drown his sorrows.
Just thinking out loud here, Jonathan…
