Thankfully it wasn’t Tubridy doing the interview this time.
What’s not to love about Ronan O’Gara?
Not only one of Ireland’s greatest ever rugby players, but deceptively witty and funny in that typical Cork style.
He’s down on Leeside this morning for an Irish Examiner breakfast and was being chatted to by Donal Lenihan when he was asked his thoughts on TV punditry.
O’Gara has been a feature of RTE’s team for the last two years and has had a few run’s in’s with George Hook, especially this year. Ireland’s record points scorer  has mixed feelin’s about what Hook and some other telly pundits bring to the analysis of matches:
(1/2) ROG: "People getting paid to cause controversy, players don't respect that. Player knows he hasn't played well, no need to ram it down

(2/2) his throat. Important to remember that when you're sitting in the chair, split second to make decisions." #rogruby

O’Gara was also asked about that infamous interview with Ryan Tubridy when he referred to how he was less nervous getting ‘up on his wife Jess’ than he was when facing an important kick. Â He subsequently apologised via Twitter for the remarks but has denied this morning he had anything stronger than caffeine for the interview,
Down to biz with ROG: "I rang Jess. Thankfully she was asleep hadn't heard it. I'd had two coffees. People thought I was on the sauce"

"I've been with Jess 19 years. She's heard worse from me. There was no problem. Saturday was a normal day for me" #rogruby

The Ireland team will be named later today with just one change expected as Jordi Murphy is likely to replace Jamie Heaslip at No8. O’Gara feels Murphy is probably the best otion for Joe Schmidt but  isn’t totally convinced he’s the perfect replacement
(1/2) ROG on Heaslip loss: "He gets through an awful amount of work. Big opp for Jordi Murphy. Look at physicality but he's half #rogruby

(2/2) size of David Wallace, Quinlan, Foley. That's why the argument doesn't stack up." #rogruby
